What’s your bag, man?
I incorporate used plastic bags into my art work; I started using Wonderbread bags in 2000, when my then ten year old son demanded the stuff. The Wonderbread bags are quite colorful, very pop art, and Max loved the bread; thus, “The Unbearable Whiteness of Being” series was born.
I am now working on an Olympia Spring Arts Walk window installation for Archibald Sisters, creating a series of babies made from used plastic bags, bubble wrap, and tape.
Mark Jenkins, the god of tape sculpture street installation, offers a video of how to make a tape baby here.
