Tacoma Recycled Art News June 09

Now through mid-September, you can see the recycled art work of two artists from Port Townsend, Lucy Carpenter and Loran Scruggs, at the EnviroHouse in Tacoma, where artwork made from more than 95 percent salvaged material is displayed in a green model house.

Ruby Re-Usable has not met Loran Scruggs yet, but she does own (and use) one of Loran’s bottle cap whistles; watch this video about her process HERE

Woodworker, painter, photographer, sculptor and collage artist Steve Lawler has had his recycled art work at Gallery Madera all last month; you can still see it through June 6.  Read about it in the Volcano HERE

Shannon Eakins and Marc Dombrosky created this wreath from work gloves discarded at the Port of Tacoma; read a review by Alec Clayton about their show at Fulcrum Gallery (which just ended, oops, where DID May go?!)

ps Ruby Re-Usable’s Another White Trash Wedding is on view at Tacoma Contemporary until June 13
