Ruby Re-Usable’s plastic wrap and tape people on top of the RE Store
On Saturday, 9/16, I went to Seattle to work with Marty B. on the RE-Store’s 5th Annual Recycled Art and Fashion Show, which will happen in October. About 50 Puget Sound-area artists will be participating, including: Ruby Re-Usable, Chris Jordan, Ross Palmer Beecher, Marita Dingus, Evan Blackwell, Barbara DePirro, Robin Worley, George Kurzman, Bil Fleming, and Tim Fowler.

Stuart Gullstrand and Russ Morgan at Just A Rumor Studio
I also got to visit with fabulous re-artists Russ Morgan and Stuart Gullstrand, who share a studio in a location so out-of-the-way it feels like a secret except that their names are on the door and you do enter from the street. Maybe that is why they call it “Just a Rumor.” We walked along the railroad tracks to pay homage to the lovely and lonely Beer Goddess, who remains raising her chalice of beer up towards what was once the Rainier Brewery but is now Tully’s Coffee.

Oh, and before you hear it from Stuart and Russ: I thought I had film in my 35 mm camera all day while I was clicking away and the camera was advancing, but turns out I did not have film in while at the RE-Store. Luckily, I had also used Marty’s digital camera and had film in my camera bag, so all was not lost and there were pictures for posterity (and to post here on this blog).
