Re-Show in Ballard (part 2)
If there is a part 1, there needs to be a part 2, so here it is: the 5th Annual Recycled Art and Fashion Show is done.
I drove up to Seattle on Friday, after working with the AP art class at Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, which I will have to post more about when I get some pics, but suffice to say, I am teaching 16 students how to make colored plastic wrap and tape babies for an installation in the waiting area of the Sound Family Medicine Clinic (Sunrise Office) in Puyallup.
Meanwhile, at the New York Fashion Academy, Marty and Sebastian were already taking the art work down and loading up the truck to take stuff back to the Re-Store. I packed my car with the work of Barbara Barnes Allen, Marita Dingus (her “Space Babies” are on the right), Ross Palmer Beecher, and moi; I did not have room for all of my figures and so the seated male figure is still hanging out at the Re-Store.
(This is a photo of Marty and his wife McKenzie from the opening, posing in front of “Bubble Wrap Wedding Party” which is by Corky and Victoria Brown, NOT ME!)
Now I am working on some Olympia art events: Duck the Malls on Sunday, 12/10, 11 am – 4 pm at the Capitol Theatre (promo pic by Jenny Macc at right), entering the SPSCC 2nd annual juried art show, and showing new work in the window of Archibald Sisters for Spring Arts Walk. Waiting to hear from TaCo about the Woolworths Windows. Wish me luck!
