Almost Earth Day
The Green Museum has an extensive list of art events happening in honor of Earth Day. The one that caught my eye was Recycle Ryoanji : Hundreds of hands have sewn thousands of white shopping bags to craft ReCycle Ryoanji, a 18 x 48 scale replica of the raked sand and rock garden in Kyoto, Japan, that will be on display across from City Hall in San Francisco.
Sleeping Lady Retreat is having a recycled art show with lots of our favorite re-artists (including moi).
Our re-art friends Kim Groff-Harrington and Bil Fleming have new websites. Bil and I (along with Olympia Dumpster Divers George the Junkileptic and Second-hand Sid) will have a table at TESC on Saturday during the Synergy Conference; I am presenting about Recycled Art in the Northwest on Sunday, 10 am.
Gallery OK in Seattle has an open call for the “Garbage Show,” terrible name but I still want to participate. The EnviroHouse in Tacoma is also looking for artists to submit for a recycled art/green product exhibit, contact Smith, Bill
My candy wrapper dolls are part of the Tossed and Found recycled art show that is traveling around Portland until December.
