High Tech/Low Tech @ SPSCC
Northwest Designer Craftsmen have a new show at South Puget Sound Community College’s Minnaert Center for the Arts Gallery: High Tech/Low Tech opens tonight at 7 pm, and Ruby Re-Usable will be there, along with some of our favorite Olympia Dumpster Divers and assorted craftspeople.
This is my piece, entitled “Protection Container.”
Plastic is an high tech material; making babies has been around since the dawn of humankind, and while it can be a high tech thing involving petri dishes, it is usually pretty low tech. Babies represent joie de vivre, and all that is precious and wonderful. While no babies were harmed during the creative process, the manufacturing and disposal of plastic is a harmful process that is unhealthy to babies and other living things. Diane Kurzyna 2007
