Recycled Art Jewelry: Prescription Drugs
Seen at the Tacoma Art Museum‘s studio art jewelry display case:
Toxicomanie (Drug Addiction), 1992, by Verena Sieber-Fuchs, is made with recycled plastic blister packaging for pharmaceuticals and nylon monofiliament
Currently hanging at Cast Off Art Lab in Olympia, Washington:
Prescription Drug Baby, 2009, by Ruby Re-Usable and Second-hand Sid, is made out of prescription drug labels and containers, plastic needle caps, plastic wrap, bubble wrap, wire, and tape
Okay, this I can relate to and it doesn’t scare me.
but drugs are scary 😉 !
And so are the plastic they come in. What a strange and wonderful reuse for the labels!
