Junkaholics
The EnviroHouse in Tacoma is having a recycled art show, now through the summer. The exhibiting artists include my junkaholic friends George Kurzman, Ruby the Resourceress, Barbara De Pirro, Holly Senn and moi, Ms. Ruby Re-Usable. (well, actually, I have never met Holly Senn nor Ruby the Resourceress, but I subscribe to Ruby’s newsletter and hope to meet up with both of them sometime soon)
I have been spending some time in the recycled world beyond Olympia, checking out these trashy ladies:
The Green Goddess Gazette blogs about media, environment, and women; read her post about recycled art in Haiti here.
Art Junk Girl is a member of Altered Art Obsession; the Crafty Green Poet writes environmental poetry, reviews, opinions, and ideas for crafts made from reused materials; and Great Green Goods is about green shopping for the greater good.
I haven’t been to Cast Off Art Studio nor the Olympia Free Wall for awhile now, been busy with a gig as an artist-in-residence at a primary school in Tacoma (AND my younger son just had some dental surgery, my migraines have been acting up and keeping me down, the usual things that keep me away), but luckily enpen on OlyBlog has been posting about the amazing art in the alley, you can check it out here and here and here.
