Check out Edith Abeyta!
Ruby Re-Usable regrets that she was not at the Seattle Art Museum this past Saturday for the Trash Bash fashion show, which was sponsored by the International Sustainability Institute; nor did she make it to Portland for this year’s Junk to Funk recycled fashion contest at the Wonder Ballroom, which also happened on Saturday.
Ruby Re-Usable“™s plastic bag and tape sculpture with 150 plastic lids, created especially for “Leave No Plastic Behind“ 2007
Ruby hasn’t even been south to PDX yet to see the Leave No Plastic Behind reality-based art exhibit, but she did send this plastic bag baby (that is like 3 months worth of plastic lids from a family of four).
And she really wishes she could go all the way to California to check out Edith Abeyta’s ambitious recycled clothing art project, E-M-P-I-R-E, at the Wingnall Museum in Rancho Cucamonga!
NEXT year perhaps Ruby will make it to the South West for the Recycled Santa Fe event!
