Recycled Bottle Art
Our friend Marita was all excited about the big bottle man at the Seattle Art Museum, and so yesterday Ruby went to SAM to see for herself what Marita was raving about:
Jerry Pethick’s Le Semeur/Sunlight and Flies, 1984/2002 is made with (recycled) glass bottles, silicone, rubber corks, aluminum, and a surveillance mirror. Read the SAM description about this sculpture HERE and then read Regina Hackett’s post about Jerry Pethick HERE
Unfortunately, we forgot to stop in Pioneer Square to check out the Alley Gallery, where the words “Waste Not” are spelled out in reused soda bottles; more info from The Fussy Eye

I love your blog! Thanks for bringing the bottle sculpture to everyone’s attention. I am writing a book on recycled glass sculpture and hope to use some photos of his work in it. I contacted the gallery.
Best,
Cindy
