This cake is made with styrofoam scraps pieced together and iced with white caulking, embedded with lots of, well, white trash, like used plastic cutlery, plastic hangers, plastic thingies that hold two 1/2 gallon bottles of milk together, plastic bread tags, curlers, chicken bones (top layer), etc. It made its debut in the window of Archibald Sisters for the Olympia Fall 2002 Arts Walk, and then was part of White Trash Wedding Redux, Diane Kurzyna’s solo exhibit at Seattle Pacific University’s Art Center Gallery, 2003. It was also the centerpiece for the TaCo cake walk in 2004. This cake stands 7 feet tall from the bottom of the pedestal to the top of the chuppah.
