Heya, recycled art lovers!  Have you been wondering what Ruby Re-Usable has been up to?  Well, we have been doing a little of this, that and the other thing … you can always check the side bar on the right, underneath pages, for What’s New with Ruby Re-Usable for some updates, and then scroll all the way down to Ruby Re-Usable’s flickr photos for some more clues.  We have been keeping busy!

Last week Ruby volunteered at her son’s high school, teaching students how to create Day of the Dead inspired “calaveras” out of left over Halloween decorations, coat hanger wire, cardboard tubes, scrap wood and fabric remenants.  More project pics HERE

And then Ruby did a recycled art workshop at the downtown Olympia library, where we made Sweet Wishes fairies out of candy wrappers, mylar cookie packaging and telephone wire (it is always nice to have a paying gig — Ruby is a teaching artist for hire — )

Meanwhile, STILL WORKING on the Bagalina white plastic bag dress, which we swear will be done before the end of this year …  and then we never want to see another white plastic grocery bag AGAIN, ever!

Also started a Wonder Bread bag toddler (not sure where this figure is going yet)

Finally, mark your social calendar and plan on attending Duck the Malls!  Ruby is not selling her wares this year, but she is helping out, and will be shopping there, and you should, too (lots of local, handmade recycled crafts available).  And then stop at Matter, where Ruby Re-Usable does have  recycled art for sale (along with other talented recycled artists and craftsters from the Left Coast).
