Hi Ruby! The thing on my mind right now is cupboard doors. I’m working part time for a building supply company and we deal in cabinets (among other things). Periodically, they change cabinet lines, so they toss all of the discontinued display cabinets in the GARBAGE. Not so much anymore, because I try to save them all by piling them in my car and filling up every corner of my studio with them. Along with the big chunks of styrofoam, scraps of hardiboard and siding, excess pieces of plywood, bins full of tile, all kinds of discarded junk, and of course, salvaged glass. Lots of glass.

This is a pic of what I do with the cupboard doors, but there are many more like them being thrown away all the time, all over the world, by cabinet distributors everywhere. This is the sort of thing that keeps me awake at night. If you are so inspired, I would encourage you to post something on your blog telling people that they can ask the cabinet folks for these doors, which could be made into SO MANY things, and they can have them. Painters could paint on them. People could make end tables from them. Someone could make large birdhouses from them, I suppose. The possibilities are endless!
